no media in d:\

I have just downloaded and installed Avast Home Edition. In trying to get everything set up to run a scan I get a message reading "There is no media in d:. Do you want to continue? (insert media and click Yes)
I don’t have a clue what that means. Any suggestions?
Thanks

This is a perfectly normal message if you d: is a cdrom/dvd and there is no disk in it.

ps: If you have the home edition, you posted in the wrong forum.

Welcome to the forums, for the future the avast! Support Forums are broken down into smaller application/program specific forums, this one is for the Server version of avast! The most relevant forum for this would be the avast! 4 Home/Pro.

What scan did you select?
If you selected Removable media, then if the media drive is empty you will get this error, select the Local Disks which scans only the hard drives.

Thanks to both of you for responding so quickly. I appreciate the answers and I’m sorry I was in the wrong area.

No problem, just for reference and one of the Moderators has moved to the correct forum, no harm done.

More importantly was this the source of the problem, selecting a Removable Media scan with no media in the tray?
