yesterday I have done a “database reset” of software updater because of a firefox error.
Then now , I have only an empty screen without all software statut I have before (IE , flashplayer , firefox , thunderbird , …)
I have done multiple new scan , avast repair , remove then re-install software updater (in windows remove program) , done VPS updates but nothing new , just statut is “good” without detail
Have I to do a clean install of entire avast ?
Have you enabled the ‘Show up-to date programs option’ ?
If so, reboot if you haven’t already done so.
If you have rebooted try an avast Repair, Control Panel > add remove programs/programs and features > avast > uninstall/change, scroll down to Repair.
Finally if that doesn’t work then do a clean reinstall.

yes like I said I have done a avast repair with add/remove programs and “show up to date programs” enable + reboot
So , I think I will not do a clean install , I’am tired to play with avast v8 and still bugs like BSOD (2 days sweats to see it was not a virus but avast itself who cause problem)
Edit: in fact I tried to do a “database reset” on my 2 others pc (xppro + w7) and the same trouble appears on they too , so maybe a bug or have to wait next VPS update

all is OK now on my 3 pc just with 130626-1 last VPS
As the problem became 2 days ago (3 or 4 VPS update even so done without issue) , I think not all VPS update afect the software updater database ?
Well any change to the software updater database would happen through the VPS updates (as far as I’m aware) when there are changes. But yes it wouldn’t be likely that every VPS update also has an update to the software updater database.
That said I think your problem was more than just that, possibly a corrupt software updater database, so there would be no reference, even for installed software monitored by the software updater. So a VPS update with updates to the software updater database may well replace the complete database and resolve the problem.
