No Network after upgrading Avast 4.8 Server to Avast BP

Hello,

I recently upgrade a network from Avast 4.8 to Avast BP. OK for all workstations but on the DC, after I reboot, the OS is very slow, several system serivces don’t start and network does not work !

When I uninstall Avast BP on the DC, the system works fine.

I try to clean all previous installation with the uninstaller tool but still same !

Thanks for your help !

What do you mean for “DC”?
Wich configuration are you using on this PC (OS, RAM…)?

Thanks your help !

DC = Domain Controler

Specs :
Dell Server PESC440
Windows 2003 Server Standard SP2, 2GB RAM

Hi,
Is the last 6.0.1345 the version you’re installing on the server?
Version of console is 1.1.131.7?
Wich method you’re using to install on server (deployment package or deployment job)?
Wich services are not running properly?
Can you tell to us wich process is using most CPU in task manager?

Yes, I have last version of Avast BP 6.0.1345 and console 1.1.131.7

I’ve tried to install with both package and job with the same result.

I’ve uninstalled Avast BP (this server have to work…) and I think that event wiewer service was not running at this moment, so I can’t tell you exactly wich services was not working…

But it’s sure that RPC was not running !

Try first to reboot, press F8, and select LAST KNOW GOOD CONFIGURATION and install again.

Any other security program are installed on the server (e.g. firewall)?

If you install first the console and reboot (without installig AV on your DC) your system is working fine or not?

and

The Last know good configuration is replaced after each succesful reboot and as I said before, once I uninstall Avast BP and reboot, the system works fine.

Each time I install Avast BP (even after a clean up), the system is unstable…

The console works fine, with or without Avast BP installed.

I can NOT tell you wich process is using most CPU because I have unistalled Avast BP, the server must working !

I know you had run the uninstaller tool, but you’ve follow the instruction like here?

I understand that your server must work, it’s normal!
But when you’ve some time to do tests, tell us

and tell

Any other security program are installed on the server (e.g. firewall)?

OK… I will re-install it tomorrow morning and I’ll tell you !

No other security program…

Thx

Hello,

So, I have ran the uninstaller tool in safe mode, I’ve installed Avast BP with installation package wich I have downloaded from Web Console.

I restart and the boot is very slow.

The service wich uses the most CPU (about 50%) is “mrmonitor.exe”, wich is the Dell RAID Manager.

In the system log, I can See an error event from NetBT, ID 4311, Initialisation failed because the device driver could not been created.

Below the list of services with auto-start wich not start :

WsusService
WinRM
W3SVC
SQLBrowser
SQLAgent$AVAST
RemoteAccess
PolicyAgent
MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS
kdc
IsmServ
Dnscache
DNS
DHCPServer
Dhcp
avast! Administration Console

Thanks for your help !

then I don’t know what’s the problem!
Are you sure that you’ve uninstalled completely previous version with avast uninstall utility?
Is your server getting last updates from win update?

Hello,

Yes the OS is up to date !

I feel that the uninstall utility does not remove properly Avast BP… I can see yet the “Avast Business” folder in ''Avast Software".

Is the uninstall utility works with Avast BP ?
