No Notifications after scan of files

Whenever I scan a file and want to see the result of the scan the CPU raise up to 100% utilisation and in the GUI there is only the waiting-donat.
Even waiting for hours there is no result.
I need to reboot the system to sort the 100% utilisation of the cpu’s.
Did not had that in past. Probably since the new version.

Currently AVAST is not fit for purpose and I think I need to find a new software. I don’t know if there are viruses in the files or not!

Can somebody help?

What Operating System and which version of Avast are you using ???
No problem here using the latest Avast version.

Hi Bob

My OS is Windows 7.

AVAST program version is 17.7.2314 (build 17.7.3660.244)

I still can’t get any details from the notification area when I click on the Details button.
The window for the details is opened and the donat for waiting stays for ever.
When I close the window the CPU stays at 100%.

Hi Lucky,
Try the following:

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed

Clean Install of Avast:

the repair hasn’t worked but the full list of clean re-install solved the problem.

Potentially problem with the program update to the new version?
May be worth checking?
