Just wanted to thank the avast! folks for one fine product!

The upgrade via internal updater went flawlessly. The improvements are awesome, what with ARK scan and enhanced AS protection, to name but two. Detection rates are great and getting better. I rarely get false positives. I recommend avast! to everyone I know.

I am so pleased to be an avast! user for almost one full year now!

I was to open a new thread but I prefer to ask here:

is antirootkit and antispyware melted in main scanner? I don’t see any new provider, just few new options and checkboxes and cosmetic changes.

From a user’s perspective, yes. We’re not big fans of security apps where you actually have to do separate “virus scans”, “spyware scans”, “rootkit scans”, “bot scans” etc. I mean, why should a user care about that?

IMHO everyone is ultimately looking for a “malware scan” , encompassing detection of all the possible threats in a single pass.
