I now noticed in the Scan Logs, that during some past scheduled scan (a fast scan), a virus (well, the Eicar test) was found.
However my front screen of Avast shows ‘SECURED’ in green colour.
Would it not be better that it indicated on the front screen, some pending decision is being awaited for (chest, delete, etc…), and ideally also a recurring tray pop-up, that during one of the scheduled scan a virus was found, and some decision has to be taken still?

If you scan a folder from Explorers context menu, and a virus is detected (say the test file Eicar.com) then at the completion of the scan the dialogue will show Threat Detected, and there will be a show results button.
If you ignor the show results button and simply close the dialogue, then by default the “infected” file is not moved to the virus chest, and you are correct, the Summary remains all green, and shows the PC as Secured and fully protected, which it arguably isn’t, even if that situation is partly by operator choice in not using the show results and from there making a decision on the file.
There would no doubt be those that for reasons of their own want to leave dicey files on the PC but don’t want to be reminded by constant warnings, similar to those that don’t wanting the “!” in the task bar icon when a shield has been stopped, so the present situation above may be by design.
From my own perspective, there seems no point in running a scan and not making a decision on what to do with any suspect files it has found. If there is the possibility of not being in a position to make the decision at the end of the scan for some reason, there is the alternative of making the action of “move to virus chest” automatic in the scan settings. That may have it’s own set of problems if a false positive results in a critical system file being quarantined, but from memory version 5 has some extra safeguards to protect against that.

Well, the scheduled scan’s log obviously keep on showing it found a virus, but i keep on finding it weird that i can only find this out when i go into the Scan/Logs overview to find this out. (as well as general tab showing all is ok, without at least mentioning some stuff needs to be checked.
Will add feature request to that forum topic on features for next release
