I just installed version 19.1.2360 of Avast Free Antivirus (update from prior version). After running a couple scans, I looked at the Notifications. Only the Wi-Fi Inspector scan shows. Nothing is entered for the Virus Scans. I do find listed a scan from last April so this issue may be left over from a prior version.
Also, all the scans are configured to generate a report file and the says the file will be in C:/Program files/Avast/Reports, but no such folder exists. The install is to C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast, but no Reports folder there either.
Yes, I did look there. There are two very old scan reports there but nothing newer than last June. The only new things are the files BehaviourShield.txt, EmailShield.txt, FileSystemShield.txt and WebShield.txt but these only log the start and stop of the Shields (at boot and shutdown) but nothing about the manual scans I run.
A little further looking and I found that for my custom scans, the option to generate the report was turned off at some time so now that I’ve turned it on I can see the report.
I’ve also found that for the built in scans, I can at least see the history in the “Scan History”, along with custom scans. Notifications shows none of the Virus scans (custom or built-in). And the reports are not generated for the built in scans.
All in all, it very inconsistent in how the reports/logs are kept.
