hello, when avast complete scanning on my pc I never get a file log, is anything I can do to get it?
thanks for your help.
What version of avast do you have Home/Pro ?
What type of scan are you doing ?
avast home 4.8 , I just make the scan in standard mode, at the end the only thing I get is the numebr of the files checked and how long did last the complete scan.
With the home version there is very little in the way of stats gathered (nor retained), so that is effectively all you get unless there are files that can’t be scanned and that list would be displayed giving the file name, location and why it couldn’t be scanned.
The Pro version (which is a paid option) retains more information even after a scan is complete, though I can’t see the purpose of reporting anything more that total files scanned (or the total size of the files scanned) and the duration.
So is there a specific purpose for wanting to view a list of thousands of flies and locations that has been scanned ?
davidr, first of all thanks for answer me, I have no specific reasons to get a report, it is only to know what parts of the disk and what files avast inspect, as other antivirus do, thank you again, ciao ciao.
Well you can get general info on what will be scanned depending on the sensitivity of the scan (Quick, Standard Thorough) and the area to be scanned (Local disks, all HDD partitions, Removable Media, floppy or CD/DVD drives and Folder Selection, you choose what to be scanned) from the help file. Those areas which are to be scanned are then scanned according to the sensitivity and if archives have been selected.
