I can’t seem to get any streaming updates since installing a fresh copy of Avast 7 Free on my laptop.
The connection status sometimes changes to “Connection established” , but I have never received a streaming update.
I’ve uploaded a screenshot.
The streaming update is over and above the regular updates and basically is for updated signatures that shouldn’t wait for the next regular update.
Sometimes I see the same as you, but today I have one (image1) and this is only a relatively small update (image2), so working here.
Seems to be a very common issue. I noticed that when I get the “not connected” wording, I can force an update and when it’s finished it’s “connected” for some reason.
You mean through a manual virus definitions update ?
One of the problems with that, if there is an update available it would incorporate any previous streaming update, so the user may not see any prior stream update recorded.
Yesterday i went from Free Version on IS. Since this time I do not see streaming updates. The connection is established.
Whilst I don’t know if it will work, try a manual engine and virus definitions update and see if that is what dagrev meant by forcing the connection.
