Need some help please if you can i am using
Avast Ver 4.1 home i was just trying to check
for updates when i get this Error
Not enough user rights to continue well
i have no idea what this is first time it
comes up on me any help at all

Is it registered with Avast or has it expired?
What is your OS?
It sounds like you are running an NT system with a restricted user rights… didn’t you change the user rights recently? Or are you logged as an administrator?
Indeed if you have multiple users accounts on your system, you should login as “administrator” 
Strange, the service should have enough rights. Can you check if ‘avast! iAVS4 Control Service’ is ‘Started’?
Path should point to: X:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe (depends where you installed avast!)

No multiple users
OS is WinXP Pro
Yes registered with Avast
Yes logged in as the Admins
