NordVPN/Avast clash

Does anyone know how to get Avast working with NordVPN properly?

I have a problem that when I join a NordVPN server, my geolocation is still identified by sites such as BBC iPlayer so I can’t access geolocked sites etc.
I called NordVPN and after many unsuccessful attempts to work out what was causing the problem, we tried pausing Avast briefly. And then everything worked fine.

I have the same problem on different computers and with different browsers.
The problem also occurs with both the Avast Free version and Avast Premium Security.
I didn’t have this problem until recently.

Has an Avast update caused this problem?

Hi,

Could you try to disable Web Shield, please?
Open the Avast Antivirus user interface and go to Protection > Core Shields.

Your issue seems to be different from the original poster.
What error message do you get?
