I just did today’s update to version 2014.9.0.2016 and since I restarted my computer my sons Xbox 360 will not connect to WMC. I have entered exceptions for it, and turned my firewall to silent mode. I am flabbergasted and have no idea what to do. Any suggestions ?

I turned of my Web Shield, and it worked instantly. Thanks for the link btw!!
Stopping the webshield is not really a good idea, are you using Internet security version ? Have you allowed Avast through your firewall if you use a third party one like commodo. As when you update the version then the files recognised by the firewall will change. In the firewall you need to delete all references to Avast and let it through as a new programme
