Not compatible with Cycling Manager 3

There appears to be a conflict when avast and Cycling Manager 3 are both running, causing a system (win98) crash. The crash is unpredictable and may occur immediately or even after 30min. of play.
When avast is not running Cycling Manager 3 runs perfectly.
Any ideas?

What does it mean “avast! is not running”? Does stopping some of the avast! resident providers help?

Yes, by stopping on-access protection and exiting avast, I can run Cycling Manager 3 without crashing my system.

OK, and can you check if any particular provider can be the cause? E.g., if you disable Standard Shield only (and keep the rest running), does it help?

Disabling Standard Shield has solved the problem, thanks.
This is the first conflict I’ve encountered with avast in 2 years of use.

Hmm, that’s bad. Standard Shield is a very important part of the resident protection. How did you stop it? Terminate or pause? Is there any difference?

Can you tell us something more about the crash? How does it “look like”? Is there any error message with any info?

Did the problems appear first with the latest update? (I.e. did you play the game successfully before, or is the game new?)

A pause causes a system conflict, stopping Standard Shield is ok.

The conflict just freezes the system, no error message, mouse and keyboard do not respond. No reset nor Ctrl-Alt-Delete is possible. The power has to be switched off,

New game. I tried an older version of avast 3.0.499.1, but that had the same problem.
