Just tried it and instead of asking me to make a account or log in, it was back to the old registration and worked with no problems 
imsoadude what were the exact steps you had to take to get this error off…am tearing my hair out trying to get a solution
i didnt do anything to tell you the truth, i was at school trying to register didnt work (had the new login thing) came home and it was the normal register i remember from avast 6
(it did give me an update notice when i got home that it updated the database but i dont think that would have done it?)

I am also able to register using the offline option, but the question is how to create account (sign in) to avast. This is still not able to be completed.
