not in system tray

Hi every one been a long time since i was here and i hope all of you are doing OK. i need some help for some reason my my 4.8 has stop showing up in my system tray but that feature is checked when i look in the menu on the 4.8. i have unchecked it a few times and check it back but it still want show up.does any one have any ideas ? ???

  1. Check the option in the Appearance tab of settings.
    or
  2. Repair your avast installation through Control Panel.
    or
  3. Make a link to ashdisp.exe in your startup folder
    or
  4. Add the path to ashDisp.exe into a value named avast! in the Windows Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If that does not help, please, uninstall, boot, install again, boot.

What other security based software do you have that might block new startup entries, e.g. Spybot S&D (TeaTimer), AdAware (AdWatch), SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor (StartUpGuard), PrevX, WinPatrol, ProcessGuard, etc.?

thanks for the reply i check the settings and they were OK so i just uninstall it and then reinstall the 4.8 free home edition.all is working fine now but i do have a question i didn’t see a free home pro 4.8 like i first had ? ???

Did you enter the key after reinstalling?
