I am running 7 Pro 64Bit w/SP1.
My comfuser is running extremely slow. Once it boots to the desktop, everything just hangs:
- taskbar takes up to an extra 30 seconds to show-up
- if I type in the Orb Search Menu, wording takes over 15 seconds to show-up (if at all)
- when I tap Ctrl+Shift+Esc, Task Manager takes almost 1 minute to show-up
- and trying to run ANY application (even the simple Sound Recorder program from either 7/XP) takes almost a minute to start
I went into Safe Mode & tried a System Restore, but every point I tried gets me a registry denied message. I opened a Command Prompt under Admin. & ran MalwareBytes’, but the only ‘problem’ found is a Menu Setting I personally set. I then tried running Avast, but no matter which switch I use, I keep getting this: “cannot find main engine (126)” - which I cannot find ANY info about.
Anyone able to help me?
