[Not Solved Yet] [5.0.462] The old update inconsistence is back... ???

The database is updated, the GUI does not show it… Am I wrong?

Everything fine here…

Worst… the problem is not consistent. Is it random?

It happened to me as well in the last minor version. But haven’t seen it since.

I’ve also had the problem with one of my pc’s as well Tech. I think it’s random.

Haven’t checked both machines but all is well on the netbook.

Maybe sometimes doesn’t process, and have to cold boot. Until updates settle in. Just a thought.

I been hibernating most times with the netbook and updates fine on resume.

Now things are good with the 13 update. Seems that it was corrected by the virus database only (not need a program update). We’ll never know if Alwil does not post here.

I don’t know what they have done. Why Alwil does not post in my threads? ???
Seems solved.

Same problem here. See attached images below. I’ve tried manually updating, but there doesn’t seem to be any effect.

Bad… it’s back again… and no words from Alwil…

seems they recently changed that Summary page

@ nuz - can you update again, then cold boot - same problem persists?

I did, now avast doesn’t work–“stopped or in an inconsistent state”. The problem, I suspect is in the attached image. I’ll reboot, then try uninstalling and going back to the earlier version.

Update: Didn’t work. I uninstalled with the removal tool and went back to v.5.0.418. Everything works now but I had to re-register. Apparently, they have no record my previous registration. Oh well, a month longer before I have to renew my registration :stuck_out_tongue: .

no they didn’t change the Summary page. Everything is absolute normal. And I just feel if I uninstall and run my installation through again, everything still will be absolute normal.

I’m sorry nuz. I cannot replicate yr problem. Everything works fine here.

That wasn’t the summary page, it was the updates maintenance page. That kept showing it was up to date, but didn’t update the VPS date. It’s an old problem with avast 4 that seems to have carried through. As I was browsing through the last few days in the forum, there appear to have been several other cases. I think I’ll stick with .418 till the next version comes out.

Yes I was looking at my Summary page, and I thought I had detected a slight change - which may have impacted elsewhere - but no, when I checked all as normal

if problem has persisted from 4.8 then the next update is unlikely to help.
but avast team will be making note, so I wouldn’t totally rule it out.
