I recently installed Avast Antivirus Home edition- version 4.6665. I’m not sure what color the avast icon is supposed to be in the toolbar. The Resident Protection is on, the icon in the toolbar looks Grey and it has an A on it. Every once in a while it spins around. Is it working properly? I thought it was supposed to be Blue when it’s working.
Blue is the most correct… but it depends on the video cards.
Good 8)
Better is just put the mouse over it and see how many providers are enabled.
Other option, left click the a icon and see which providers are on 8)
It is a blue-grey color which is confusing. If you look in the avast4 program folder, several .exes are a nice shade of blue. They should make the system tray icon this color blue instead of the current blue-grey color. This would eliminate this confusion. It has been suggested several times but it has never been changed. They must have some reason for it.
Thanks for all of your help, guys! It looks like my system is A-Ok!!!
Just remember, if the A ball is spinning, that means it’s scanning something right now (scan a website, files, etc.) The second blue ball which has “i” is the virus recovery generator and will work only when your screensaver appears (This is the default, there are other ways to make the virus recovery generator run)
