When I do a full system scan it comes back with “some avast files cannot be read.” Why would that happen with Avast’s own product? Also the Icon in the top right corner is grey. What could be the problem and how can I fix it. I thought about removing and installing again. Help!
if you mean… some files could not be scanned ?
this is a scan error message and not a detection…so button is gray
avast will only take action on infected files

if the reason avast gave was…files not found…this scan error is usually gone if you reboot and scan again

Avast does housekeeping to manage the total size on the hard disk, so some files can be removed in the time of the scan before getting to those files.
This is speculative as you don’t give any details, file name/s, location/s and reason why they couldn’t be scanned ?
