avast 4 home edtition can’t update automatically(sorry for my bad english)I don’t now where the problem is.If i download avast again shud the problem disappear?I can download manually but not automatic
Hi! Neron: have you firewall installed on your pc?
if yes look if it allows avast!update
if ok!look in parameters of avast if automatic updates are checked
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
Can you manually update avast?
Which are your settings under Update sections of the settings?
Most problems of update rely on the firewall

No i don’t have firewall and the automatic update is set to automatic i haven’t set if i am permamently connected or with modem but i dont think that thi is the problem.The program i have is not directly downloaded from me but if i download it from your website maybe it will be ok shud i try to download it or the problem is somewhere else.And yes i can download update manually:))).
P.S. I’m form Bulgaria and i will be happy if you make this program to speak bulgarian(it is not so hard isn’t it

Start Avast! then, click on Menu > Settings > Update Connections >Make sure My Computer is Permanently Connected is checked.

Why are you so sure that you can’t update automatically?
What error message do you receive?
avast can speak 15 languages. Only two were made by Alwil (czeck and english).

Can you help and made the bulgarian version?
I am sure ,becouse on this site there was a note that there is new update and everithing was set automatic but it just didn’t updateI restarted the computer but…there isn’t any error message its just not updating.I will try and see when the connection is set to permament is everithing ok or else i’will download it from the site.I’m just a user i can not program.

Hey i can’t understand something.
Now on this site there is a note that the latest update is 0445-1 but i have downloaded 0455-2 04.11.2004???
And another qeustion?
Once i began updating but sudently the internet stopped and the update hasn’t finished and the program generated errors so i had to install it again.if i set the update that i am permamently connected and the internet stops in the middle of the updating the program will generate errors again i think what shud i do?

Perfectly normal. The first ones updated are the users, then they update the webpage. Don’t worry, you are more important than the web visitors.

No, it’s not normal or common to find updatee errors. Something is not good in your avast installation.

I think the best you can do is wait… sometimes a boot can solve the problems ;D

But way everytning is ok i can download manually but if the internet stops i’m shrure that the program is going to crash(maybe just that one that i have) I have reinstall it 3 times becouse the first 2 time ad-watch stopped some processe during the instalation and the 3 becouse the internet stopped in the middle of update and when i open the chest there is a message with error.I think the hole installation fail is dammeged a little bit and there is the problem.I have to remove the hole program and to download it normally form your site not from other place.then it shud go ok. How do you think.I thin that this is the solution
You should allow ad-watch to add the startup items. Or, better, disable ad-watch while installing avast.
Why are you trying to download avast by other site than the official one?
If you cancel an update, the next one will ‘correct’ everything. No need to uninstall.

Now when you now my problem how do you think?To download from the official site or to try something else?What to do next? I wanted to say that it is not good to download from other place thi program and if my problem is steel unsolved shud i install it from the official site,not from the other sever,becouse maybe there is the problem with the instalation
Problem solved when there camed(sorry for the english again and thanks very much) a new update the program updated automatic(after i switched permamently connected)
