Not waking up from sleep to do a scan

I set a schedule to wake up from sleep but the computer remains asleep. Once turned on manually it gets with it.

I’d really like this good feature to work. Any suggestions?

(Win 7x64)

Thanks

I’ve tried this with a couple of installs and still no waking up. I am putting the computer into sleep and not hibernation, so that not an issue.

I’m wondering if it’s just me or does this work fine for others, and if so what could be going wrong.

I’m on win 7 64 and have just tried this, and it seemed to work.

I scheduled the scan, and set it to sleep. The scan then ran, and it stayed on, waiting for me to log on.

What are the settings, you have set for the scan?
Also what are the power options? - Wakeup timers?

Tested right now.
It is NOT working: computer does not wake up.

Thanks for the reply.

I have it set to do a daily quick scan, wake up at 6AM (6:00). Do not start if on batteries. I haven’t set anything else on the computer (laptop) as far as timers go.

it never worked here, even with “allow timers” enabled in power options.

Well I guess I’m not the only one. Sorry Tech, but I do feel a little better knowing it not just me!

Wonder what is different for me then?

A consideration maybe? - I have to have hybrid sleep switched off since the laptop wont sleep if on - and it never hibernates…(just returns to logon)

I went in and enabled timers and still nothing…

Just tested it on another system, worked as expected. computer was woken up and the scan was run. (vista 32)
(though when I logged in, the GUI didn’t reflecty the scan running - GUI bug?)

So it does work, maybe it is a settings issue…

The setup for my scans, attached.

Scott,
I set up exactly as you did and it worked.

I’m not sure why it needs the “Do not scan if running on batteries” and “Pause scan in batteries mode begins” boxes UNCHECKED. I don’t get that. It seems something is not working as these functions ought to be functional. Maybe a developer will get this passed along!

Well, you said it was a laptop yes?

If it is on batteries, when the scan is supposed to start, that setting will not let it run, so that it wont use power.

I have just tested it while charging, and those setting checked and it still works

I understand that, but I never just leave the battery in. It’s plugged in all the time. Sometimes battery in sometimes not, so I don’t see how that would affect it since it wasn’t just running on battery.

Oh, now I understand. Yes, that is odd.
Wonder why it is like that for you?

My computer does not wake up…
What’s wrong?
What should be the energy options for it to work?

What are they now?

Try the settings that I had in the images. (not sure if the hybrid sleep is relevant - it is necessary for me to even sleep - an issue somewhere on my end…)

Well I never understood this sleep function as it isn’t clearly defined as to exactly what it is as this differs from one OS to another. On my main system XP Pro desktop, Display Properties, Power settings, Power Schemes, there is no Sleep mentioned only Standby.

I have mine set to go into standby after 20 minutes, yet in another area, Advanced it mentions a Sleep button. I really do hate it when they give mixed terms/names etc.

However that said, if I have it in standby mode the Wake up feature does work and runs the scan.

I have “awakeners” enabled into the energy settings. It does not work…

What about the avast settings?
