nq0nj095.virus ??????

In my last Scan, the report had the folllowing line

C"\documents and Setting\XXXXXX\local settings\temp\nq0nj095.virus.exe\netfx.msi

In the results column it reports "unable to scan: CAB archive is corrupted

Tried to move to chest and AVAST reports An error occurred during processing of 1 results

What is this file (nq0nj095.virus.exe)

I went to this file in the Temp folder and did a scan of only that file. It consists of 26 files and AVAST found no virus. How come AVAST can scan this way as an individual event but the system scan process could not?

Did a goggle search on netfx.msi, this is part of the install for Net framework it would appear.

Wanted to see if anyone new anything before I deleted this item (if I can)

OK, I had AVAST delete the file. It now reports file is OK. However, the file is not deleted. I am soooo confused ???

If a virus is replicant (coming and coming again), you should:

  1. Disable System Restore on Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];310405
  2. Clean your temporary files.
  3. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast. Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning. Select for scanning archives. Boot.
  4. Use a-squared, ewido or Spyware Terminator (trojan removers).
