hi!! last week after emptying the trash in my yahoo e-mail account, avast gave me a warning that a virus had been found. ? so i immediately updated avast version 4.8 home edition (free) and malwarebytes, then scanned the system (XP Home edition, SP 1&2) and didnât find anything after scanning the system, but, found in the avast log viewer, under âwarning,â âNutcracker family found in http://usâŚâ (cannot read the complete url address)
not sure what to do even after reading info on Nutcracker family virus. should i be concerned? is our pc infected with the virus?? ??? if the pc is infected, what should i do?? reformat?? or is it possibly a false positive??
;D Thank you Pondus and essexboy for your assistance!! i greatly appreciate your quick replies!!
i found a lot on the Nutcracker family after doing a search on the forum. i believe avast webshield stopped it. 8) (wiping sweat off brow) my better half freaks out whenever he peeks in the avast log and finds something iâve âdiscoveredâ on the internet, lol!! but, i wanted to be certain that the puter was ok.
oh, didnât know that v5 was out already. many thanks for the suggestion, maxx_original and pondus!! ;D
do i need to download v5 then uninstall v4.8?? ???
hi, charleyo :), and thank you for the warm welcome!! oh lordy, charleyo, we downloaded sp3 once and the puter went wack-o for some strange reason. itâs been some time ago, but, i think it made the puter slow as a turtle if i remember correctly.
