I’m having the strangest trouble…
I’ve installed ADNM on both my server and one workstation. The server is hosting the AMS. Using the ADNM control on the workstation I have successfully deployed Avast to all the systems in the domain except for… the server!
For some reason, when I attempt to deploy the NetServer package to my SBS2003 SP1 server, nothing happens. And I mean NOTHING. No entries in the Remote Install log, no errors, nothing. The task is simply listed as “Waiting” until the timeout expires.
Avast SBS edition will install and uninstall normally on the server. I’ve gotten the NetServer version running on SBS2003SP1 without a problem at three different client sites. Only here on my own network have I encountered this problem.
Oddly, if I attempt to deploy the NetClient version to the server, the installation runs and fails (as you’d expect). Likewise if I delete the Server package, and then attempt the Server Deployment; the task runs and fails.
I’ve tried re-creating the Server package, the Server deployment task, many different combinations of username/passwords… I’m at a total loss.
Any ideas?
