Off Topic/Firefox

Some do not like the browser, because of the controversial orthodox christian views held by the main browser-developer, Brendan Eich.
What does that have to do with the operation or effectiveness of the browser ???

I was going to say that.

@bob3160 and Para-Noid,

Nothing, zilch, nic, nichts, niets, nada - as I stated there, but as they could not have anything else to hold out against him,
they started to personally attack the developer, withstanding his excellent track record here: https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Eich

But I mentioned this nasty Mozilla controversy, because with choice of browsers all sort of non-arguments can enter the bargain, eh I mean discussion based on emotions rather than facts.

However I think that Brendan Eich has to redo partly his main invention, javascript, a bit as seen to the insecurities of that language, we have to struggle against now everyday. But he and we did not know that back in 1995.

I thought we were talking about a Browser not the last Election in the USA ??? :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

Hi bob3160,

You must see this totally apart from a larger picture, Has nothing to do with what you say.
It was long before that. But it touched what we discussed - browsers.

Nothing to do with what you say, the controversy was over a browser developer,
namely at Mozilla’s whether the man could stay as a Mozilla CEO, and he could not.

It was a personal attack by browser people on another browser man, their developer and CEO.

How can you say that that has nothing to do with browsers?

It is a non-argument, I agree, it should have had nothing to do with browsers or his functioning as a CEO,
but as they found he stepped the line he went and then started his Brave company.

Else we would not have had Brave browser at all. So it was very important in that respect.

polonus

After reinstalling the latest version of Firefox once again my add-ons are gone and I have only 2 extensions. The add-ons were there before I restarted Firefox.

I’m going to uninstall it and not install it again.

Edie:: typo

Did nobody tell you, that those 2 of your screenshot don’t harmonize? You better deinstall McAfee!

@+Snake+,

McAfee Web Advisor is not a Anti-Virus program. so I won’t uninstall it.

I know, but inspite of that: it conflicts with Avast. It’s your choice!

=Snake=

No it doesn’t conflict with Avast.
