offer some help please

HI I was wondering if I could get some help please. You see I look after the two computers in this house hold and the one I want to check for a viruses or adware is Microsoft Windows 7 home premium. You see quiet a while ago this computer had a virus on it and so I got rid of it. But now though tonight my step dad went to go on his computer and he double clicked on Internet Explorer 10 and the browser launched but it took forever for anything to come up in the browser window. I would like some ideas please what can cause this to happen and what can possibly be done to fix this problem. My step dad had to finally exit ie and double clicked it again and this time the window came up and contents was displayed in the ie window.

Some stuff that might be important
Windows 7 home premium
avast Free 8 lasted program version

I would like some ideas please what can cause this to happen and what can possibly be done to fix this problem.
impossible to say with no logs.... and you should know the drill by now ....logs guide and attach logs. ;)

HI here are logs for otl and adwcleaner below:

Probably just needs some TLC

Clear Cache/Temp Files
Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

[*] Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
[*]It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
[*]Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
[*]Once it’s finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

THEN

Defragment the hard drive

Thanks very much Essexboy the help and your time.

No problem 8)
