Downloaded and am at the choice point of wanting to choose trial edition or the supply a license well I am supposed to have a license but I don’t see it so i came to Avast to find where it shows me links and stuff and I found a link for downloading a key file which I thought it was the one for the license info but it just says that Windows 7 doesn’t recognize the file cause its called an avastic file and it doesn’t know how to open it. Where do I get the license key at for this new program? Please help ASAP!!

How did you not get that I have an issue and that it is a certain thing by reading what I said? I mean I stated the actual problem right there in the post. LOL! Please read what I wrote and try to point me the right place for finding the things I need. I either need the the program that opens an avastic file since windows doesn’t know what it is or I need the location of my license key so that I can just get it to put it in the program since I am installing. Please don’t ask me this again since i have now told this 2 times. LOL!

The program to open avastlic files is Avast5.
Once Avast is installed and the pc rebooted, a doubleclick should do the trick.
Please don’t ask me that again, since I answered it now.
And by the way: the avastlic file is the licence.
avast! Internet Security 5.0 (3 PCs, 2 years) Delivery date: 19-MAR-2010 Is what was ordered and installed but it will not open the avastic file so how do I get the lisense key out of it for the install program cause right now it will not do anything. I can choose the trial version but I would rather just do the license now if I could.

OK well non of that helped so what I did was do the install on the trial mode and then open the avastic file to register it as the full i guess. In stead of just registering it right away as a full version during the install. I think it is working as a full version now tho.
Of course it is. That’s the purpose of a trial.
But BTW: you did not state your problem in the first post. You said you had already installed avast - which you had indeed not.
But I supposeyou did it not by bad intention… :-))

always worked fantastic so far ;D (runs well too with the firefox plugin, but secunia says it’s unpatched ??? )
edit: btw, I didn’t get my avastlic newsletter today, I wonder what’s up, may be they’re down for maintenance :-[
