Ok. on windows live messanger, my friend sent me picture saying “this person looks exactly like you!”. I opened it to see what kind of prank she came up with. The picture did not open.
I suddenly got this very uneasy feeling because i clicked several times and it did not open so I closed the messanger and when to history log it showed me that I sent message like “OMFG i think i just found your pic on www.hotornot.com!” , “have you seen my new car?? I just took a picture of it. here. its my baby lol.”,or “can i up some of these pics of ya to my myspace profile?” sending exactly same image to everyfriend online. Everytime I run messanger It start doing this. How can I get rid of this?
Welcome to the forums, MrJLo.
Please download HijackThis from the link below, run the program but do not make any fixes, and then post the log results using the “copy & paste” method. It will probably take more than one post to be able to get the complete log posted. OR, you can post it as an attachment to your post by clicking on “Additional Options…” below left of the posting box. Someone will review your log and then offer help.

These are social engineering attacks to prompt you to drop your guard and it looks like it caught you just as planned.
Don’t open attachments or click links in unsolicited emails, messenger, etc. even if it supposedly comes from a friend. The from address is too easy to forge, not to mention your friend/colleague’s system could be infected and sending stuff out to infect others.
If you are unsure of the authenticity of an unsolicited communication, check, check, check.
The fact that nothing opened when you clicked it doesn’t mean that you dodged the bullet, so besides the HJT CharleyO mentions I would suggest an anti-spyware scan.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.
- If using winXP or Vista SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version.
Judging from your description, I’d say something did open, you just didn’t see it.
Follow the guys’ suggestion. When you use superantispyware, set the san to the max and do a complete scan, not a quick scan.
