Good day everyone!
I have a problem with pop-up messages of the on-access scanner. every second the “a” icon spins/scans, a screen with all the scanned details pops up and its kind of annoying and really gets in the way of what you doin’. i’m sure there is a way to disable this screen without stopping the functions of the “on-access protection” but i just don’t know where to start.
i have installed: avast!4-home edition,firefox2,windows xp,zonealarm6.5 firewall,spyware doctor.
any help and suggestions is greatly appreciated. thank you.

avast is very configurable and you seem to be changed what you’re not used to
Go to Standard Shield properties and on the Advanced tab of settings, uncheck the option for 'Show detailed information…" 8)
Welcome to forums.
Oh, you can do the same for any other provider that you’ve changed the default settings.
thanks so much, tech.
appreciate the help and got it done.
kind regards.

I had the same problem and it was not obvious that I had to double-click on the icons. Maybe there should be a message on this menu to double-click.
Most icons have to be double clicked in windows unless you change your settings to single click operation. For me though a single click on the avast ‘a’ icon brings up the On-Access Protection Control.
The rest of the icons on my system tray require a double click.
What icons are they that you are talking about ?
