On-Acess Scanner displaying 14 providers. How did this happen?

Where did these duplicate application and extention files come from and how do I get rid of them?

Check if you have database set to ODBC into avast4.ini file. Did you change into the ‘Troubleshooting’ tab of settings?
When the the database is set to XML it can happen in some systems.

If what Tech suggested doesn’t work.

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.

If that doesn’t work (which I’m not that confident) then try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
