on screen message constantly running

how do I get rid of that annoying avast on screen message constanting running. It interfers with anything I am doing and takes up the whole screen. I am ready to go back to norton if this cannot be fixed.

This option, ‘Show detailed info on performed actions’ is off by default, so it would appear that you have been tweaking your settings.

Example of Standard Shield, if you have changed any others you will have to uncheck them also.

David,
Thank you soooo much. It was making me nuts

Susan

No problem, glad I could help.

There is absolutely No way you would get me on Norton ;D Welcome to avast the most configurable, flexible anti-virus I have ever used and to the forums.

Stick around and browse the forums, especially the sticky topics at the top of each of the forums. They provide a wealth of information to help you get the best from avast.

I will most certainly do that and thanks again.

Susan

Susan, everything could be fixed… or, at least, configurated in the most configurable antivirus called avast.
Welcome to the family 8)

Now that my first problem is corrected, thanks to the very kind people on this forum, I have another. The network shield shows time running but no files scanned. I would appreciate more help. Thanks so much. I do noticve that my computer is running so much faster with avast.

Susan

The Network Shield effectively only records detected data information so it is usual to see this.

Show warning messages. When this options is on, avast! will display a warning message in the system area (above the system clock) every time it detects an Internet worm attack. Logging. All attacks will be recorded into a log file so that you can inspect their history, frequency, etc. The last detected attacks will be displayed on the following page, Last attacks.

Thanks again David…You are so kind to help.

Susan

Your welcome.
