I certainly hope the punishment is harsh and serves as a deterant to others.

A California man has been indicted on federal charges of creating a network of hijacked computers that helped him and two others bring in $100,000 for installing unwanted ad software.

The maximum 10 years seems about right but a maximum $250,000 fine seems a little light ;D for the harm done and the fact they made almost that in the this botnet attack, made worse when one of the targets was a hospital.

It's actually way out of proportion when you consider child molesters can be out in as little as 2 years.... :'( :'( I'd much rather have one of these Hackers living near me than a child molester....

That much is true, Bob … only, I would rather child molesters get life without chance of parole.
