The spinning ball says my system is unsecured.
When I call up Avast!, it says my system is secured.
Obviously, I don’t want an unsecured system but which one is true?
Mist
If you are using Windows XP in your computer, the steps provided by jadinolf might fix the issue. If incase it didn’t fix, download and run Dial-A-Fix. This tool will re-register all the .dll files related with Internet Explore, Windows Updates and other Windows Applets. You can download the tool from http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4899&file=15&evp=7d21ae5c611baf9a52b1750805534dda.
Make sure that you repair Avast! after running Dial-A-Fix.
Hope your issue will be fixed by this.
iyogisolutions1 there are critical unpatched issues with that program, please read the pink highlighted text at the authors homepage http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix .
The OP also needs to tell us what version of windows there using before people start making assumptions’
Glad to hear it worked for you, but what about the OP. We still need more info from Mist, like OS, what version of avast and what other security software they have or ever had. As I stated before “never assume anything”…period. By making assumptions you could quite easily give the wrong advice and screw up there computers even more.
@ craigb I am trying very hard to have patience with iyogisolutions1. Maybe some day he will stop making assumptions and learn what questions to ask and the reason behind asking them.
Well one assumption was that the OP is on xp so we really need for him to come back with a reply but as he has not done so im hoping that my first reply to repair and reboot solved his issue.
