Oops.....

Hehehe. Hey guys! I feel stupid asking for (more) help. But I’m being stubborn tonight.

So, I’ll give you guys what set me off. Primarily, it was my lack of ability to use any form of Windows Program (Some exclusions, such as IE, Edge, Cortana, maybe others). It was more of a concern I couldn’t use smaller programs such as Calc.exe or Windows Photo Gallery. I research the error code it gave me; “No applicable app licenses found” and came up with what I thought’d help.

An official “Support Engineer” from Microsoft. This was their suggestion.

“Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}” in PS (Admin).

Great, ran it, spit out a * ton of errors to me. Restarted anyways, hoping it was just jibber jabber from Windows. Nope. Made things (Significantly) worse. I now have icons in my task bar missing. Programs like MBAM appear to have “Started”, but will not show themselves. (I can see it in Task Manager, it won’t show me the UI)… Windows Defender now consistently complains to me (As it always has). But now it just won’t start (Yipee!). I’m beginning to suspect something much larger is going on now. Although what it is, I’m not sure.

I got FRST to run, you can find the result below per usual. MBAM won’t work though, sorry!

Have to make a second post for aswMBR, sorry!

Nolonger using Avast?

You have to wait until tomorrow/later today for help.

Hi Michael (alan1998)

Was this “lack of ability” versus the software of rather “lack of stability” coming from the hardware involved.
Wait for the verdicht of the qualified removal specialists here, but I have a hunch it is an a-specific issue
and so hardware related. Happens sometimes. :frowning:
Wait for the malware remover to react to your logs, but in the mean time read here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/nl-nl/library/windows/hardware/dn938326(v=vs.85).aspx (txt is in English)

I actually for the longest time used no security software, including MBAM, MCShield etc. Generally speaking I don’t involve myself with the “Shady side” of the interwebs. Since I discontinued the use of VM’s, and generally downloading anything short of trusted files from reputable sources, is a no go as well. Although I am aware of the potentials of other forms of malware, browsing is usually limited to Games, Social media or YouTube (Not saying that means I am definitely clean or unclean, but the chances of obtaining something from those sources is uncommon.

@Polonus

Sadly this isn’t usable for me. If I understood correctly, sideloading is designed for Entreprise networks, which use Group Policies. Since I neither am in a Domain system, nor have GP’s, I cannot use that. Do correct me if I’m wrong.

Ah! I got MBAM to show it’s UI!! Proceeding with a scan now.

Alright: It’s done now. Found 1 Object, an inert file that hasn’t been run (I was looking for an autoclicker one day)… Removed.

Back up data and reset would be the quickest way as it is a 10 problem and not malware

Alright Essex, Thanks for the help. I will pursue a full reset. Will clean off the old drive too while I’m at it.

I had downloaded Skype Emotiplus from their official Website (Skype…)

Although it got marked as Phishing (I don’t know why?), the files downloaded by me, and scanned using VT (In the same link you gave me) deemed those files as clean.

Cheers Essex! I’ve reset windows back to a default state. Everything appears to be fully functional again. Thanks!
