OP.class virus

My Avast 4.8 Home Edition pops up and catches a virus called OP.class every time I run my AdAware se software. What is this OP.class virus and how can I get rid of it permanantly?

This is an AdAware issue, not Spybot as I previously stated.

Strange, I have Spybot and run it regularly and avast is not complaining about anything…
Can you check the infected file name and path?

Original file name: OP.class
Original folder: C:\DOCUME~1\JEFFER~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\AAWTMP\C26843734\3AE4F6
Size of file: 1842
Last modification time: 8/16/2008 11:36:34 AM
Time of transfer to C: 8/16/2008 6:37:01 AM
Category: Infected files
Virus description: Other:Malware-gen
File ID: 10

Most probably a false positive… Hope they correct it soon.
Maybe you can send the file OP.class to virus (at) avast (dot) com for analysis.

right- send it to avast
then run CCleaner or another cleaner and perhaps cleaning that temp folder will solve the problem also

If CCleaner finds megabytes of old stuff you might want to defrag and set a new restore point

put the file to exclusion list temporarily… we’ll check the detection…
