Open Admin Console On Different Desktop Besides the Server.

Is it possible to open the Administration Console from another desktop?
The console opens fine on the server I have it installed on, when I try to open it on the my PC at my desk I get

The connection has timed out

The server at server.abc.com is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I am using the following URL to access the server:
http://servername.abc.com/Avast/Default.aspx

is your internal domain using .com ??? this means that according to DNS searches the search for abc.com will highly probable be directed outside the company network (root server) where it cant find your server.

replace sername.abc.com for the ip address and see if that works
also see if the website is blocked by a running firewall

i prefer using https://computername:8732 or https://ipaddress:8732

I had to add Domain to the firewall rule for port 8732. Do I need to this for port 8731 also.

I am getting this error now.
