open listen ports is not working

I’ve seen this discussed but can find no actual answers on how to do it step by step, although I think I’ve done it properly.
I know avast is blocking the port because I’ve set up my modem and I can verify it with avast firewall (or just ‘all shields’) on/off at canyouseeme[dot]org.

I set the local port and ip and it is still blocked.
(settings/components/firewall/customize/packet rules: allow-tcd/udp-my ip-in/out-local port #-profile all)

Either I’m selecting some setting wrong or it does not work.

How do I do this?

Firewall on port blocked, firewall off port not blocked.
No windows firewall, no other issues, just cannot unblock the ports, even though I’ve selected that option.
Tried moving rules up and down.
Just need ‘tcp/udp’ but even tried ‘all’. No luck in any setting Ive tried.
I even tried 192.168.0.1 to see if that worked as a rule.

Please, anyone…

I’ve read those instructions and they are basic.
What I already listed is more in depth:

(settings/components/firewall/customize/packet rules: allow-tcd/udp-my ip-in/out-local port #-profile all)

I believe it is set right, but not working.

I know have another problem and I am thinking it is all due to the last update I got 17.4.2294 (17.4.3482.0)

Davinci Resolve has suddenly stopped being able to access ports too.
I have it set to allow everything for the program but it does not.
I have Resolve set to the top (5th) bar and ports to ‘all’.
If I disable the firewall it works fine.

I watched the firewall logs for ports that looked like they needed access during the bootup of Resolve and added some until I see no blocks showing, but it still does not work.

Nothing I try, other than shutting off avast will let Resolve boot without a long wait and a port access error.

Perform a repair of avast.
If that doesn’t solve it, perform a clean installation of the latest avast version.

Worked.
I could not boot thi morning or get online, computer crashing accessing protected memory, never fully loading, etc. Did system restore before avast update and computer started working. Had to uninstall avast, delete about a dozen network adapters that were added (who knows when or by whom).

Rebooted and all fine…but without avast.

Reinstalled avast, added license, all seems well so far. I did not import the rules I had saved, seemed best to start over.
After getting back up the first thing I did was boot Resolve…and the issue was resolved…pun intended.

All because I updated avast. No idea what or why…corrupted file somehow? Anyway, after starting over I’m back to work…so far.

PS: alwaysed loved avast…and I think I still do, but the interface and negotiating it and the tutorials and such…way dumbed down from before and a real bear to figure out. And I have built and done support for computers for years. Like negotiating win 8.1 before adding god mode!
Now, the captcha (below) really needs some help as it is hard to use!

So I think I am  Thanks for the help…and for responding quickly!

You’re welcome.

It is often not possible in cases like this to find out what caused it.
If I have to guess, I would the Windows registry got somehow corrupted.

Anyway, it is working again as it should.
Keep an eye on things and if there is a problem, you know how to find this webboard
