opening avast and only a blank page

When I open avast all I get is a blank page. I have just had to delete and reinstall avast because it would not update to the latest free programme. Anyone any ideas what is going on?

The same is occurring to me! Running Windows 7.
After updating to the last release, clicking on the icon in the applications bar results only in a white windows.

C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\AVAST Software

We are aware of this bug and trying to find a root cause of it, there is not better solution than reinstalling now.

I also get a large white blank screen when trying to open AVAST. This is happening on both of my machines. HELP
