Opening framed window not working

???When I install AVAST home with all defaults one of my website framed links will no longer work. If I disable WEB Shield it works.

The link in question is:
Go to www.savings4uRealty.com
Then click on the link at left called “FREE MLS SEARCH” … this should open a framed website that shows MLS data to my customers.

This works OK with previous security software but not with AVAST. Is there an easy way to allow this framed website to work?

I don’t think the default settings should block this type of traffic… What do I tell my customers?

Well avast wouldn’t know a framed site if it bumped into one, it doesn’t care, it just monitors http traffic and can’t have any effect on browser or web page format.

I have just tried it using firefox and no problems other than it loads slowly (I’m on dial-up). I have just tried with Maxthon, an IE clone and that to loaded OK both with the web shield enabled.

The site works just fine here also now when I try

WinXP SP2, avast! v4.7.942 (with webshield enabled), IE6.0

It worked for me as well with i.e.6 … The problems started with Avast on a Vista computer running i.e.7. With Vista and i.e.7 the framed site will NOT load with WebShield enabled… I am using v4.7.

I guess we will have to wait for someone using vista and IE7, but again avast ‘shouldn’t’ have any effect on format, it doesn’t care, it doesn’t check, it just monitors http traffic the browser handles page format.

Have you tried with firefox or opera under vista ?
Is the site in anyway optimised for IE or use activeX, etc. as MS made some changes to how IE7 handles activeX, this has in some cases broken some sites.

All I know is that the problem just started when I loaded Avast… If i disable AVAST it works ok… Went in a little deeper and found that I only needed to disable the WEB SHIELD part of Avast to get the frame to load correctly. I was hoping someone that works for Avast could do a little research to find out why WEB SHIELD blocks the frame from opening in default mode…
