avast! Free antivirus 6.0.1367 Windows 7 Ultimate x86 The problem: I updated virus database with the help of the update button in Avast GUI and since then if I try to open the Statistics tab, I get the message that Avast is stopped and closed. The complete re-installation doesn't help. At the same time, my Avast works and updates virus databases in normal way.
Eliminate (uninstall) older java versions. Install only the latest Java. You can use JavaRa to help you in the task.
The same with adobe FLASH (for IE, even if you use other browser). For flash, I would suggest first uninstalling any and all versions, clean any remnants (like for example, by uninstalling with the help of Revo Uninstaller and then with CCleaner) and then install the latest stable version of flash for IE.

if avastui crashes, we need to get unp* file, which is created in avast program folder – we cant help user without this file, because we don’t know where exactly it crashed.
Thank you for everybody. The problem was completely solved by Adobe Flash re-installation.
