Opera not recognised in Avast

Hi All,

I am using the standard free version of Avast and I have noticed that it only recognises IE as the defaut browser. However, I use Opera and there does not seem to be an option for making Avast check Opera.

Do any of the other Avast suites cover this browser? On a separate note, I seemed to have gotten a number of malware issues via a youtube downloader program which Avast failed to stop nor does it find them with scanning yet they all come up in Spyhunter 4.

I’ve always enjoyed using Avast so is the an Avast solution for the above mentioned issues?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Peter

Avast recognizes and checks any browser you use.
Maybe you need to explain your problem with a little more detail so we can help you with your problem.

Hi Bob,

Thanks. When I click on browser cleanup, it says it has done it yet youtube downloader remains. Also, there appears to be only a tab on the left for cleaning IE (however this may just be a default option for avast)…

What’s the matter with Youtube Downloader ??? I don’t consider it useless or dangerous. I use it. If you don’t want it, then simply remove it manually.

I don’t think you understand. No worries, thanks anyway. :-\ I’ll give Avast help centre a call in Melbourne.

Do you have the latest version of avast installed ?
