option to stop Avast UI?

so there’s 2 executables in memory when avast running, avastsvc.exe and avastui.exe. when gaming I turn off as many apps as possible (I aint got a next gen quad cpu or something)

now avastsvc at least can be stopped manually thru the windows services console, however avastui cant be stopped manually (it aint a service so its not in the services list) and of cos it cant be stopped thru taskmanager cause it’s protected, so I have to use something like Processhacker to do it

most AVs have an option to terminate the UI when right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar (which is useless without the service anyway) so there should be an option like that for avast too!

sidenote: Processhacker owns Avast! in fact very few AVs are resistant to it, AFAIK only Eset can resist it so far (Processhacker can still terminate it but somehow it always reactivates itself so it looks like they use some secret ultra-advanced self-protection tech)

You have stopped all of the scanning shields/elements stopping the other two won’t be doing anything. The avastUI.exe is just the tray icon and interface to the program, e.g. to restart the shields without having to reboot and also why the background service avastSvc.exe needs to be there.

If you insist, you need to disable the avast self-defence module first, then you should be able to stop these in the task manager, but will require a reboot to start avast and enable the self-defence module.

but even with service disabled the UI still cant be terminated with taskmanager (I need special process-killers)

prolly another bug?

I’m not talking about the service but the avast self-defence module not avastSvc.exe.
