orange ball stops spinning when it goes to a page..is it working ok??

Anyone know if ths is the norm,or is something wrong with my avast?? it used to spin all the time when on the net but now it’ll spin when i pick a site or say gmail…but as soon as the site page pops up, the ball stops spinning…any suggestions would be welcomed…tks

It only spins when it is actually scanning something, so once a page loads it would stop, assuming there is no other background activity going on, p2p or media streaming, etc.

Whilst typing this I have no activity on my avast icon, which is as it should be as I have no background internet activity.

hi,

Best way to understand why the orange icon will spin sometimes, and sometimes not, is to open the program gui (see attached .jepg below) and watch the spin occur when it is actually scanning some file or other. You can move around from one scanner to another to confirm.
