Every once in a while, Outlook 2003 crashes with a screen offering to inform Microsoft that there was a problem. This can happen several times a day, even when I’m away from the computer. Outlook IS set to collect messages every 5 minutes…
I don’t know what is causing this, but Avast! is the only protection on this computer. I use Adaware, but not AdWatch (the memory resident program).
I have no details of the crash at the moment. Next time I’ll try to find more info.
Please check the folder \data\log
Are there any files called unpXXXX there (where XXXX is a random number)?
If so, send them to vlk@avast.com
They may contain more information about the problem (maybe a link to this thread).
we also had some issues with outlook and avast.
but this was only when used in combination with the Communigate Pro MAPI connector, it’s an add-on from CommuniGate to use that mailserver as an alternative for MS Exchange.
It has to be disabled to use in combination with avast, or you get strange effects (send/receive doesn’t work automatically, outlook doesn’t close properly and hangs, etc…)
