Outlook 2007 - AV 5.0.418 Spamfilter Toolbar missing

Hello Forum,
finally I need help … 5 years NO problem at all with avast

  1. on my Windows 7 with Outlook 2007 the Spamfilter Toolbar ist missing. On my other machine (XP, Office 2007) everthing is OK. No idea how to get it back? How can I get the toolbar back?

  2. ist Avast Spamfilter learning from the actions I make with the spamfilter toolbar?

Thank you
Erwin

You need to access outlook addons configuration windows (COM Suplements), enable avast antispam again, close/open Outlook.
I don’t know how are the windows names in English…

Yes.

Hello Tech,
problem solved with your help! Thank you.
Erwin

Thanks for posting back
Welcome to avast forums.

Hello Tech,
its strange … now it happend again??? I can repair it, but I wondering why this happend again???
thanks.
Erwin

I know… unfortunatelly that happens with me very often…
There is a problem that I could not identify.
I’ve disabled the Antispam for a while as I’m tired of Outlook being crashed :stuck_out_tongue:

Same thing is happening to me. It is very frustrating. >:( Why is Avast not fixing the problem???

This is an issue which we will try to look into in more detail soon. Unfortunately we have not been able to reproduce this problem here so far and thus we will need more data/feedback from you. I have created a new build of asOutExt.dll which will be able to log extra debug information - this will be included in the next avast beta build (which is due out by the end of this week).

Once you have the new build go to Avast settings > Maintenance. Change the maximum size of the logfile to -say- 32768 and select “Enable debug logging”
To be able to diagnose those issues further we will then probably need your setup.log, asoutext.log as well as antispamshield.ini to get better idea of what is going on.
Please report back once you have the new build and are ready to provide me with some feedback.

Cheers.

I am running free version 5 and outlook 2007 with pop3 account. No Anti-Spam toolbar. I see option for Avast in Exchange Client extensions which brings up list of dll’s. Which one?
