Outlook 2007, avast!5 and Gmail POP/IMAP - No connection!

I have digged the entire forum and the support site of both Avast and Gmail in order to make this work, but I can’t.
I want Mail Shield to scan everything, and so I established:

  • pop.gmail.com, protocol IMAP, port 993, encryption SSL
  • pop.gmail.com, protocol POP3, port 995, encryption SSL <= just in case I wanted to change protocols
  • smtp.gmail.com, protocol SMTP, port 587, encryption TLS

and of course I restored the port configuration in Outlook 2007 to the default preferences(143/25, no encryption).
Yet it does not work.

Any help would be appreciated :wink:

No luck, I have already tried the configuration indicated on that page.
Seems that avast does not hook the connection properly - Outlook connects directly to the unencrypted version of Gmail, which of course will fail.
