Hi,

Running latest version and not seeing the splash screen when starting Outlook 2010 despite that box being ticked in Settings. Also, when attaching the eicarcom2.zip test file to an e-mail there was no intervention from Avast until I’d clicked on Send. I thought it was supposed to scan on attachment if checked in Settings?

UPDATE: Sorry, I read a bit more and found the answer to the splash screen screen issue. Still unsure though about the ‘Scan attachment when attaching’ option.

OK, I’m not convinced by the mail scanner with Outlook 2010. It tells me the virus (eicar) is deleted in the log following the pop-up when I click on send. It isn’t though - it’s still sitting there in Sent Items and when I detach and scan, ‘eicar.com’ is still in the archive. This doesn’t seem to be working well / at all.

I do believe it does block the file from being sent. The plugin is scanning incoming and outgoing traffic only not your data file (PST or OST file)

Yep. It does stop it from being sent. My beef is that the pop up and the log tells you it’s been deleted - which it hasn’t. Also, scan on attachment does not work.
