OUTLOOK 2016 Stops Working with New 11.1.2253 Release

After installing the 11.1.2253 upgrade, the AVAST Outlook add-on causes Outlook 2016 to fail in 30 secs with “Microsoft Outlook has stopped working”. If I disable the Avast add-on all is well again. I’m getting really sick of this. This has happened at least three times in the last year or so.

I should kick myself in the butt for being so stupid as to upgrade without waiting for a new release to shake out. How do I fall back to previous release?

I am having similar problem. With MS office (Outlook) 2016, gets disconnected from exchange 365. I have narrowed down to a firewall setting. HAve changed application rules to allow all ports on outlook, but still disconnects. When I turn off Firewall, everything works well. Any suggestions?”

there is new version now 11.2.2260 (which is infact 11.2.2279)
try update and see if it helps

Not 11.2.2279 but 11.2.2729.0
The file version number is even more screwed up than that, showing 11.2.2729.0 for dll and .exe files

I can’t believe no one else is having issues with the Avast Add-in and Outlook 2016. If it is on Outlook just crashes all the time so I turn it off and have no issues, but also no protection?! What other solutions are there?

Happening with me, as well. WHY?! Is there a fix, other than having to uninstall and re-install everything? THAT, is not a fix, it’s a workaround. I didn’t pay for a broken product… OR DID I?!

re-installing doesn’t fix it, its the latest program version that’s got the bug. Its quite bad that after a few days, they haven’t fixed it or rolled back the version or given any help.
