outlook add in problem

Hopefully someone here can help. I’ve been using Avast for a while now with no probs. But yesterday outlook wouldn’t open without me disabling the avast add in for outlook. The problem is that now i can’t enable it. I tried removing avast and re installing but that didn’t work. I think i need to do something in outlook but am not sure what?? ??? ???

help!

Make sure the avast plugin is not disabled into MS Outlook:

Outlook 2007 > Tools > Trust center > Add-inns > Manage Disabled items.
Outlook 2003 > Help > About > Disabled items.
Outlook 2000 > Tools menu > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-In Manager.

Thanks for the prompt reply. However, when i follow those directions the Avant box is checked. Can you think of any other reason why the outlook/exchange provider is waiting for a subsytem to start?

Success! For anyone in future that has this problem you need to go to

Help > About Microsoft Outlook > Disabled items and enable Avast from there.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Which is what Tech said, but he gave three options depending on your version of Outlook as you didn’t state which version you were using, based on your last post one of those options worked, even though you say in another post you use outlook 2002.

If it is in the disabled items list you obviously have to enable it.
