I’ve this problem, my two computers in a LAN, both has changed their account settings in outlook express.
I’ve avast installed on.
The settings which I see changed are:
POP3 → 127.0.0.1
SMTP → 127.0.0.1
in POP3 setting the UserID is changed in this way:
The Mail Protection Wizard changes email account settings so that avast’s Internet Mail protection can check inbound email before it gets into your inbox and provide a timely warning.
The same is true of the mail you send, avast checks that it is clean before it is sent to your smtp mail server. Most smtp servers require authentication, avast doesn’t change that so if it was ticked before, that’s the way it is left.
So what you see if perfectly normal, what matters most is that it works ???, and I have to assume it does otherwise you would be more concerned about that.
